site! On behalf of the family of
faith known as the Second Baptist
Church of Calais, I extend to you an
invitation to also visit with us as
we worship on Sunday mornings at
10:45 a.m. and Sunday evenings at 6
p.m. We are a multi-generational
congregation, deeply committed to
our individual faith and to one
another. The joy of our faith in
Jesus Christ and our fellowship with
each other strengthens us as we live
each day.
My
name is Pastor Chris Stevens and I
am pleased to have accepted God’s
call to be the pastor of this
congregation. I am very excited
about what God is doing through
Second Baptist as we together seek
his will for our lives! I was born
and raised in Westboro,
Massachusetts and received a
Bachelor of Science degree in
business marketing from the
University of Massachusetts. I met
my wife Jenny at the church that we
were attending and we married in
1997. God then sent us the two
greatest joys of our lives: our
daughter Emily (now eight years old)
and our son Timmy (now six years
old). After working in the sales and
marketing field for seven years, we
heard God’s call to attend Gordon-Conwell
Theological Seminary in South
Hamilton, Massachusetts. We packed
our family up and moved on campus to
begin our lives in ministry! Three
years later, in 2005, we arrived in
Calais, ready to partner with the
Second Baptist Church in glorifying
the Lord Jesus Christ.
Our Sunday School program begins
with our nursery. We cherish our
youngest members and guests, and
strive to provide a safe and
nurturing environment for them to
interact with one another and learn
about our Lord through song and
play. This same loving attitude
carries all the way through to our
adult classes. Our 10:45 a.m.
worship service is a mix of
traditional and contemporary
practices. There is a place for
everyone here to learn about Jesus
and to be a part of our
congregation! Look for our new
building on Church Street – where
it is cool in the summer, warm in
the winter, and friendly all year
